Do you want to go to Baguio on your own, yet you don’t know where to start? Well, here’s a detailed description on your DO IT YOURSELF Baguio trip.

It was also my first time to explore the well-known Summer City Capital in the Philippines last November 12 – 14, 2010. I was so naïve with the place. As soon as I get down in the bus, I looked for a taxi to transport me to my hotel and I was so surprised to know that all taxis’ that operates in Baguio doesn’t have air-conditioned since the place is very cold indeed. Thus taxi only have a flag down rate of P25.00, pretty cool huh! =)

From Manila airport terminal 3, I took the bus going to Pasay bus station @P20. And from Pasay bus station I rode a bus bound to Baguio. I’ve took the Victory Liner bus @P700/way. It was approximately 7 hours road trip, whew!

Here was my itinerary for the 2 days tour: Day 1

Strawberry Farm
- (don’t miss to try strawberry taho @P10, so yummy!)
- have a good picture taking at the field of the farm. Strawberry picking is allowed
during peak season

Mines View Park

- (horses for picture taking is charged @P10/shot, henna tattoo @P50, picture
taking w/ St. Bernard doggie @P25/shot, have a shot with an Igorot costume
@P10/costume)
The Mansion
- Just a short picture taking in the gate then go directly in Wright Park is which is just in front The Mansion

Wright Park

- Picture taking in the “Pool by the Pines” then has a good walk going down to the horseback riding

Botanical Garden

- Have a good shot with the native Igorot that will surely gather together to lure for you to agree to have a picture taking with them @P10/person, upon arriving in the entrance

And since our hotel where we stayed in, is just 1 block away from SM Baguio we opted to have a city tour at night time.

Burnham Park

- try to do boating at sunset, it is really romantic. Then have a good chitchat in the park while having a fresh sweet corn with you
Take a good walk in Session Road in going up to SM and don’t miss to try ice cream in Session Delight @25/scoop with a Belgian Cone, still yum!

SM Baguio view deck

- with the foggy weather up in the view deck, even SM Baguio is not an air-conditioned mall, you can still feel the cold weather outside. Have a cold beer in one of the restos with a yummy pizza while watching the beautiful city of Baguio.

So, these wrap up our day 1 tour in our DIY Baguio trip. Watch out for my 2nd day itinerary with detailed expenses on this – 2 nights 3 days budgeted trip. By the way, Cathedral is just along Session Road, below SM Baguio, so you can just drop by anytime during your City tour.
